ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION ACT 1997 - SECT 74

Conduct of audits

    (1)     For section 76 or section 78, an environmental audit is an assessment of an activity to decide—

        (a)     the source, cause or extent of environmental harm being caused, or likely to be caused, by the activity; and

        (b)     the need for any alteration of management practices to reduce the environmental impact of the activity; and

        (c)     the extent and nature of any contravention, or likely contravention, of an environmental authorisation, an environment protection order or a provision of this Act.

    (2)     An environmental audit must consider—

        (a)     the provisions of this Act; and

        (b)     the permitted and approved uses of the land to which the audit relates; and

        (c)     any relevant environmental protection policies; and

        (d)     any relevant national environment protection measures.
