Australian Capital Territory Current Acts Australian Capital Territory Current Acts(1) If the chair of the governing board of a territory authority is absent or cannot for any reason exercise the functions of the chair, the deputy chair of the governing board must exercise the functions of the chair.
(2) However, this section does not apply to a territory authority if the establishing Act for the authority provides that it need not have a deputy chair.
