MEDICINES, POISONS AND THERAPEUTIC GOODS ACT 2008 - SECT 137

Certificates of analysis by authorised analysts

    (1)     The analysis of a sample of a substance for the chief health officer must be carried out by, or under the supervision of, an authorised analyst.

    (2)     An authorised analyst who analyses the sample must give to the chief health officer a certificate of analysis that—

        (a)     is signed and dated by the analyst; and

        (b)     contains a written report of the analysis that sets out the findings; and

        (c)     identifies the method of analysis.

    (3)     In this section:

"authorised analyst" means an analyst appointed under the Public Health Act 1997

, section 15 who is authorised under that Act to exercise a function under this Act.
