ROAD TRANSPORT (DRIVER LICENSING) REGULATION 2000 - REG 100

Production of English translation of foreign driver licence to police officer etc

If the holder of a foreign driver licence is required by a police officer or authorised person to produce his or her licence under the href="http://www.legislation.act.gov.au/a/1999-77" title="A1999-77">Road Transport (General) Act 1999

, section 58 (1) (a) and the licence is not written in English, the person must also produce, at the same time the person produces his or her licence—

        (a)     an international driving permit; or

        (b)     an official English translation of the licence.

Maximum penalty: 20 penalty units.
