NAVIGATION ACT 2012 - SECT 230

  (1 )   A legal owner of any wreck contravenes this subsection if:

  (a)   the owner is required under subsection   229 (1) to remove or mark the wreck, or a specified part of the wreck; and

  (b)   the owner fails to comply with the requirement.

Fault - based offence

  (2 )   A person commits an offence if the person contravenes subsection   ( 1).

Penalty:   60 0 penalty units.

Civil penalty

  (3 )   A person is liable to a civil penalty if the person contravenes subsection   ( 1).

Civil penalty:   6 , 00 0 penalty units.
