NAVIGATION ACT 2012 - SECT 39

  (1)   T he holder of a seafarer certificate must ensure that the certificate is made available at all reasonable times for examination on request by any of the following:

  (a )   AMSA ;

  (b )   an inspector;

  (c )   an officer of Customs.

Fault - based offence

  (2)   A person commits an offence if the person contravenes subsection   ( 1).

Penalty:   Imprisonment for 12 months or 60 penalty units, or both.

Civil penalty

  (3)   A person is liable to a civil penalty if the person contravenes subsection   ( 1).

Civil penalty:   600 penalty units.
