Commonwealth Consolidated Regulations Commonwealth Consolidated RegulationsFor the purposes of the definition of effective service in section 3 of the Act :
(a) a person's service is effective service if it meets the requirements of Division 2 of this Part ; and
(b) a person's period of effective service as at a particular time is the period worked out in accordance with Division s 3 to 8 of this Part (subject to paragraph ( a) of the definition of effective service in section 3 of the Act) .
Note: Under paragraph ( a) of the definition of effective service in section 3 of the Act , i f a person stops being a member of the Defence Force and again becomes a member more than 5 years later, any service performed before they stopped being a member is not counted as effective service.
