Australian Meat and Live-stock Corporation Amendment Act 1984 No. 57 of 1984 - SECT 15

15. Section 23 of the Principal Act is amended-

   (a)  by omitting sub-sections (1) and (2) and substituting the following
        sub-sections:

''(1) The Minister may appoint one of the members referred to in paragraph 18
(1) (d) to be the Deputy Chairman of the Corporation.

''(1A) The Minister shall not appoint a person to be the Deputy Chairman
unless he has consulted with the Chairman concerning the suitability of the
person for appointment under this section.

''(2) The Minister may, at any time, remove a Deputy Chairman from office as
Deputy Chairman.''; and

   (b)  by omitting from sub-section (5) ''delivered to the Chairman or, if he
        resigns at a time when he is acting as Chairman,''.
