Commonwealth Electoral Legislation Amendment Act 1983 No. 144 of 1983 - SECT 57

57. Section 75 of the Principal Act is repealed and the following section is
substituted: Rejection of nominations

''75. (1) Subject to sub-section (2), a nomination shall be rejected by the
officer to whom it is made if, and only if, the provisions of section 71, 72,
73 or 74 have not been complied with in relation to the nomination.

''(2) No nomination shall be rejected by reason of any formal defect or error
in the nomination if the officer to whom the nomination is made is satisfied
that the provisions of sections 71, 72, 73 and 74 have been substantially
complied with.''.
