CRIMES LEGISLATION AMENDMENT ACT 1992 No. 164 of 1992 - SECT 46

46. After section 43 of the Principal Act the following section is inserted:
Admissibility of certain documents - requests under the Money-Laundering
Convention

"43A.(1) In any proceeding arising directly or indirectly from a request made
by a foreign country for international assistance in a criminal matter
(including a proceeding under the Proceeds of Crime Act), a document is
admissible in evidence if the Attorney-General provides a certificate stating
that the document was provided by a specified Party to the Money-Laundering
Convention, in connection with a request for assistance of the type covered by
the Convention.

"(2) The regulations may specify the Parties to the Money-Laundering
Convention for the purposes of paragraph (1)(b).".
