Health Acts Amendment Act 1981 No. 118 of 1981 - SECT 72

72. Section 74 of the Principal Act is amended by adding at the end thereof
the following sub-sections:

''(9) A registered organization shall appoint a person to act in the place of
the public officer of the organization whenever that public officer is absent
from duty.

Penalty: $200.

''(10) Where a person (in this sub-section referred to as 'the acting
officer') is acting in the place of the public officer of a registered
organization by virtue of an appointment (in this sub-section referred to as
'the acting appointment') referred to in sub-section (9), then, for the
purposes of this Act (including the purposes of sub-section (5) of this
section)-

   (a)  the acting officer shall be deemed to be the public officer of the
        organization during the whole of the period of the acting appointment;
        and

   (b)  the person in whose place the acting officer is acting shall be deemed
        not to be the public officer of the organization during any part of
        the period of the acting appointment.''.
