MARITIME TRANSPORT SECURITY ACT 2003 No. 131, 2003 - SECT 96

Regulated foreign ships must comply with security directions
(1)
If the Secretary gives a security direction to a regulated foreign ship under section 36, the ship must comply with the direction.

Note: A ship is only a regulated foreign ship when it is in Australian waters: see section 17.

(2)
If a regulated foreign ship does not comply with a security direction, the ship operator for, or the master of, the ship may be given a control direction under Division 3.

Note: In addition, the ship operator for, or the master of, a security regulated ship may commit an offence if the ship fails to comply with a security direction: see subsection 39(1).
