REFERENDUM (MACHINERY PROVISIONS) ACT 1984 No. 44, 1984 - SECT 116
Officers and scrutineers to observe secrecy
PART X-OFFENCES
116. A person who is, or has been, an officer or a scrutineer shall not,
except for the purposes of Part V, either directly or indirectly, divulge or
communicate any information with respect to the vote of an elector at a
referendum acquired by him in the performance of his functions or in the
exercise of his powers under this Act or the regulations in a manner that is
likely to enable the identification of the elector.
Penalty: $1,000 or imprisonment for 6 months, or both.
