TELECOMMUNICATIONS ACT 1991 No. 98 of 1991 - SECT 60

Decision on application
60. (1) This section applies where the holder of a licence applies under
section 59 to transfer the licence to another corporation.

(2) The Minister:

   (a)  may defer consideration of the application for as long as he or she
        thinks appropriate; and

   (b)  subject to subsection (3), may, in his or her absolute discretion,
        either grant or refuse the application.

(3) The Minister must refuse the application if the other corporation is not
an eligible corporation.

(4) If the Minister grants the application, he or she must:

   (a)  revoke the licence; and

   (b)  grant under paragraph 57 (1) (b) a general telecommunications licence
        or a public mobile licence, as the case requires, to the other
        corporation.
