1995 No. 27 AGRICULTURAL AND VETERINARY CHEMICALS CODE REGULATIONS - REG 6

Definition of "protection period"-section 3 of the Code
6. (1) Subject to this regulation, the period, in years, in relation to
protected registration information of a kind specified in columns 2 and 3 of
an item in Schedule 2 is the period worked out in accordance with the formula:
2 + 5A
B where: A is the number, or the total number, as the case requires, of points
allocated to that item in column 4 of Schedule 2; and B is 600.

(2) If the period worked out in accordance with subregulation (1) in relation
to an item is not a whole number, it is to be rounded to the nearest whole
number.

(3) If the period worked out in accordance with subregulations (1) and (2) in
relation to an item is more than 7 years, the period is taken to be 7 years.
