NATIONAL MEASUREMENT REGULATIONS 1999 1999 No. 110 1999 - REG 80

Definitions for Part 8
In this Part:

"appointment" means an appointment as an authority.

"authority" means a verifying, certifying or approving authority.

certificate does not include a certificate of verification of:

(a)
an Australian primary or secondary standard of measurement; or

(b)
a State primary standard of measurement.

"Commission" includes:

(a)
for cancellation of a certificate of verification or certificate issued under regulation 37 — the verifying or certifying authority that issued the certificate; and

(b)
for variation or cancellation of a certificate issued under regulation 48  — the certifying authority that issued the certificate; and

(c)
for variation, cancellation or withdrawal of a certificate of approval — the approving authority that issued the certificate.

"instrument" means:

(a)
a certificate; or

(b)
a permission under regulation 71; or

(c)
an instrument of appointment.

"instrument holder" means:

(a)
an authority; or

(b)
the holder of a certificate.
