1996 No. 85 OFFSHORE MINERALS (DATA LODGMENT AND REPORTING) REGULATIONS - REG 10

Licence holder must not provide false information
10. A licence holder must not, without reasonable excuse, knowingly give to a
Designated Authority an exploration report, or information under regulation 5,
that is significantly false or misleading. Penalty: 10 penalty units. (NOTES:
1. Sections 124, 184, 261 and 309 (respectively in relation to exploration
licences, retention licences, mining licences and works licences) of the
Offshore Minerals Act 1994 each provide for a maximum penalty of 100 penalty
units for failure to comply with requirements of the Regulations to make
returns or to give records or samples to the Designated Authority. 2. See
sections 4AA, 4AB and 4B of the Crimes Act 1914 for further details on
penalties. Section 4AA provides for the amount of a "penalty unit". 3. See
section 4k of the Crimes Act 1914 for penalties for continuing offences.)
