Notification of serious electricity works accidents
63R Notification of serious electricity works accidents
(1) A serious electricity works accident must be notified in accordance with
subsection (2) to the Tribunal by the distributor or transmission operator
that owns, controls or operates the distribution system or transmission system
of which the electricity works concerned forms part. : Maximum penalty--500
penalty units.
(2) A notice of an accident must be given within 7 days after
the accident in such manner as may be prescribed by the regulations.
(3) The
regulations may exclude a person, or a person belonging to a class of persons,
prescribed by the regulations from any requirement under this section to
notify the Tribunal of a serious electricity works accident.
(4) This section
does not apply to a serious electricity works accident involving a motor
vehicle accident on land not owned or controlled by a network operator if--
(a) a fault or failure in electricity works did not contribute to the motor
vehicle accident, and
(b) electricity did not contribute to an injury or
death.
