Orders prohibiting the unsafe operation of electricity delivery equipment
63Q Orders prohibiting the unsafe operation of electricity delivery equipment
(1) If the Minister is satisfied that electricity delivery equipment cannot be
operated safely, the Minister may, by order served on the network operator
that operates or proposes to operate the equipment, prohibit the operation of
the equipment.
(2) An order under this section may permanently prohibit the
operation of the electricity delivery equipment concerned or prohibit the
operation of the equipment until such time as it is repaired or altered, or
its operation is rectified, to the satisfaction of the Minister.
(3) The
Minister may make an order under this section only on the recommendation of
the Tribunal.
(4) A person must not use or operate any electricity delivery
equipment in contravention of an order made under this section. : Maximum
penalty--7,500 penalty units (in the case of a corporation) and 5,000 penalty
units (in any other case).
