LONG SERVICE LEAVE ACT 1955 - SECT 15C
COVID-19 pandemic--accrual of long service leave
15C COVID-19 pandemic--accrual of long service leave
(1) If, during the prescribed period, a worker is stood down without pay by an
employer as a direct or indirect result of the COVID-19 pandemic-- (a) the
service of the worker with the employer is, despite that break, taken to be
continuous service, and
(b) the worker continues to accrue long service leave
while stood down.
(2) This section extends to long service leave entitlements
under any other Act.
(3) In this section--
"prescribed period" means the period-- (a) starting on 11 March 2020, and
(b)
ending on-- (i) 30 September 2021, or
(ii) a later day, not later than 31
March 2022, prescribed by the regulations.
"worker" includes any person who may access long service leave entitlements
under this or any other Act.
