ROAD RULES 2014 - REG 180

Stopping in a truck zone

180 Stopping in a truck zone

(1) A driver must not stop in a truck zone unless the driver is driving--
(a) a truck that is dropping off, or picking up, goods, or
(b) a motor vehicle that is dropping off, or picking up, passengers.
: Maximum penalty--20 penalty units.
Note 1 :
"Motor vehicle" and
"truck" are defined in the Dictionary.
Note 2 : Subrule (1)(b) is not uniform with the corresponding paragraph in rule 180 of the Australian Road Rules . However, the corresponding paragraph in the Australian Road Rules allows another law of this jurisdiction to permit a driver of a vehicle to stop in a truck zone. Different rules may apply in other Australian jurisdictions.
(2) A
"truck zone" is a length of a road to which a truck zone sign applies.
