ROAD TRANSPORT (VEHICLE REGISTRATION) REGULATION 2017 - REG 9

9 Supporting evidence
(cf 2007 reg cl 9)
(1) Transport for NSW may request an applicant for
registration of a registrable vehicle to submit evidence, in a form approved
by Transport for NSW, verifying-- (a) the identity of the applicant, and
(b)
the means by which the vehicle came into the ownership, or under the
management, of the applicant, and
(c) the proposed garage address of the
vehicle, and
(d) that the vehicle complies with the
applicable vehicle standards for the vehicle, and
(e) the acceptability of
non-standard or non-complying vehicles, and
(f) any other information
specified by Transport for NSW in the application form.
(2) In addition to
the evidence that may be required under subclause (1), Transport for NSW may
request an applicant for registration of a registrable vehicle that has a
vehicle identifier that is the same as the vehicle identifier of a vehicle
recorded on the NSW written-off light vehicles register or NSW written-off
heavy vehicles register to submit any of the following-- (a) a valid receipt
for any repairs made to the vehicle,
(b) if the vehicle was repaired using a
part of another vehicle--a valid receipt for the purchase of that part, being
a receipt that contains the vehicle identifier of the other vehicle,
(c) any
other information specified by Transport for NSW.
(3) In this clause--
"valid receipt" means a receipt-- (a) that is an original document, and
(b)
that contains the name and Australian Business Number of the relevant repairer
or trader, and
(c) that is dated, and
(d) that contains any other
information required by Transport for NSW.
