Northern Territory Consolidated Acts Northern Territory Consolidated Acts(1) The regional harbourmaster for a designated port, or a person authorised by the regional harbourmaster, may enter any land, and transport goods through or over it, for the purpose mentioned in subsection (2).
(2) The purpose is to erect, inspect or maintain an aid, lamp or light that:
(a) is within the port; or
(b) may affect the safety or convenience of marine navigation within the port.
(3) The powers of the regional harbourmaster, or a person authorised by the regional harbourmaster, under subsection (1) in relation to land includes powers in relation to Aboriginal land even though the regional harbourmaster or the person does not hold a permit to enter Aboriginal land under the Aboriginal Land Act 1978 .
(4) In this section:
"Aboriginal land", see section 3(1) of the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976 (Cth).
