Northern Territory Consolidated Regulations Northern Territory Consolidated Regulations(1) The object of the Vehicle Standards is to set standards, about the construction and performance of motor vehicles, trailers and combinations, that are uniform throughout Australia.
(2) The standards are intended:
(a) to promote, throughout the life of motor vehicles, trailers and combinations, their safe use and efficiency and the protection of the environment; and
(b) to reduce the cost of transport administration.
