(1) The CEO may take action under subsection (2) if satisfied that:
(a) an accreditation has been obtained improperly; or
(b) a person has contravened a condition of an accreditation; or
(c) an accredited animal ethics committee has contravened the scientific use code; or
(d) an accredited animal ethics committee has failed to give the CEO an annual report in accordance with section 73 ; or
(e) an accredited animal ethics committee has otherwise acted inappropriately.
(2) The CEO may take any of the following actions:
(a) vary a condition of the accreditation;
(b) suspend the accreditation;
(c) cancel the accreditation.
(3) Before taking action under subsection (2), the CEO must:
(a) notify the person holding the accreditation of the proposed action and the reasons for it; and
(b) allow that person a reasonable opportunity to make representations about the proposed action within a reasonable period specified in the notice.
(4) As soon as practicable after making a decision to take action under subsection (2), the CEO must give a decision notice to the person holding the accreditation.
