HEALTH PRACTITIONER (NATIONAL UNIFORM LEGISLATION) IMPLEMENTATION ACT 2010 (NO 18 OF 2010) - SECT 68

Amendment of section 132 (Continued detention of person taken into custody under section 128)

(1) Section 132(1), definition health practitioner

(2) Section 132(1)

insert

"health practitioner" means one of the following who is available to attend to a person held in custody:

(a) a medical practitioner;

(b) a person registered under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law to practise in the nursing and midwifery profession as a nurse (other than as a student);

(c) a health practitioner who has a right of practice under the Health Practitioners Act in the category of health care practice of Aboriginal health work.
