Consent given under a law of another State
42 Consent given under a law of another State
(1) A complying interstate consent has effect for this Act as if it were given
under this part.
(2) For subsection (1) , a person’s consent to the
child’s adoption is a
"complying interstate consent" if an authorised officer for another State has
given the chief executive— (a) a notice stating that the consent was given,
by signed writing, under a law of the other State and has not been revoked
under that law; and
(b) a written authorisation to make arrangements for the
adoption of the child in Queensland.
(3) In this section—
"authorised officer" , for another State, means an officer who, under the law
of the State, is authorised to make arrangements for the adoption of children
in the State.
