Continuance of appointments etc. made under amended provisions
20B Continuance of appointments etc. made under amended provisions
(1) This section applies if— (a) a provision of a law expressly or impliedly
authorises or requires— (i) the making of an appointment; or
(ii) the
delegation of a function or power; or
(iii) the doing of anything else (other
than the making of a statutory instrument); and
(b) the provision is amended
by an Act; and
(c) under the amended provision— (i) the appointment may be
made; or
(ii) the function or power may be delegated; or
(iii) the thing may
be done.
(2) An appointment, delegation or other thing mentioned in
subsection (1) that was in force immediately before the commencement of the
amendment continues to have effect after the commencement as if it had been
done under the amended provision.
(3) In this section—
"amend" includes omit and re-enact in the same law (with or without
modification), but does not include omit and re-enact in another law.
