ACTS INTERPRETATION ACT 1954 - SECT 32F
References to commencement
(1) In an Act, a reference to
"commencement" for an Act or a provision of an Act is a reference to the time
the Act or provision comes into operation.
(2) In a provision of an Act, a
reference to
"the commencement" without indicating a particular Act or provision is a
reference to the commencement of the provision in which the reference occurs.
Example of subsection (2)— If section 24(3) of an Act stated ‘This
section expires 1 month after the commencement’, ‘the commencement’
referred to is the commencement of section 24(3) .
