BIRTHS, DEATHS AND MARRIAGES REGISTRATION ACT 2003 - SECT 34

34 The registrar

(1) There is to be a registrar-general (the
"registrar" ).

(2) The registrar is to be employed under the Public Sector Act 2022 .

(3) The registrar’s functions are—

(a) to establish the registers for this Act; and

(b) to administer this Act in an efficient, effective and economical way; and

(c) the functions given under this or another Act.

(4) The registrar has the powers reasonably necessary to perform the registrar’s functions.
