BIRTHS, DEATHS AND MARRIAGES REGISTRATION ACT 2003 - SECT 48C
Registrar may enter into arrangement with health ombudsman
48C Registrar may enter into arrangement with health ombudsman
(1) The registrar may enter into an arrangement with the health ombudsman
about providing to the health ombudsman information from a register or a
source document, or providing to the health ombudsman a copy of a source
document, about the death of a person to which an investigation under the
Health Ombudsman Act 2013 may be relevant.
(2) The registrar may provide
information or a copy of a source document to the health ombudsman under the
arrangement.
(3) The registrar and the health ombudsman must, as far as
practicable, protect the person to whom the information or source document
relates from unjustified intrusion on the person’s privacy.
(4) If the
registrar enters into an arrangement with the health ombudsman, the registrar
may charge a fee for the service that is not more than the actual cost of
providing the service.
(5) This section applies despite sections 44 to 46 and
48 .
(6) In this section—
"health ombudsman" means the health ombudsman under the
Health Ombudsman Act 2013 .
