INTERACTIVE GAMBLING (PLAYER PROTECTION) ACT 1998 - SECT 256
Appeals from tribunal only to Court of Appeal on a question of law
256 Appeals from tribunal only to Court of Appeal on a question of law
(1) This section applies to a decision of the tribunal (the
"tribunal decision" ) in a proceeding for a review of a decision mentioned in
sections 249 to 253 .
(2) The QCAT Act, chapter 2 , part 8 , division 1 does
not apply to the tribunal decision.
(3) A party to the proceeding may appeal
to the Court of Appeal against the tribunal decision but only if the appeal is
on a question of law.
(4) To remove any doubt, it is declared that the QCAT
Act, section 149 does not apply to the tribunal decision. Note— See the
QCAT Act, sections 151 to 153 , 155 and 156 for other requirements and effects
of an appeal to the Court of Appeal.
