(1) The Governor in Council may, by gazette notice, appoint a member of the Australian commission to be a deputy president or an industrial commissioner (each a
"dual commissioner" ).
(2) Sections 423 and 446 and 586 do not apply to the appointment of a dual commissioner or to a dual commissioner.
(3) The appointment—(a) is for the term decided by the Governor in Council and stated in the instrument of appointment; and(b) may be ended, with the Governor in Council’s approval, by notice given by the Minister to the dual commissioner.
(4) A dual commissioner—(a) is not entitled to remuneration for performing the functions of a deputy president or an industrial commissioner; but(b) is entitled to be paid expenses reasonably incurred by the dual commissioner in exercising powers and performing functions as a deputy president or an industrial commissioner.
(5) A dual commissioner stops being a deputy president or an industrial commissioner if the person—(a) becomes a person mentioned in section 445 ; or(b) stops being a member of the Australian commission.
