PUBLIC HEALTH (INFECTION CONTROL FOR PERSONAL APPEARANCE SERVICES) ACT 2003 - SECT 26
Business proprietor must notify commencement of business
26 Business proprietor must notify commencement of business
(1) Subsection (2) applies if a business proprietor starts carrying on
business providing non-higher risk personal appearance services in a local
government area.
(2) If required to do so under a local law of the local
government for the local government area, the business proprietor must give
notice, as required by this section, to the local government that the
proprietor has started carrying on business. Penalty— Maximum
penalty—50 penalty units.
(3) Notice must be given to the local
government within 30 days of starting to carrying on business.
(4) The notice
must state the following particulars— (a) the business proprietor’s name
and address;
(b) the type of business and the date the business proprietor
started carrying on business;
(c) for fixed premises, the address of the
premises;
(d) for mobile premises, a description of the premises that
includes the registration number if the premises are a vehicle that is
required to be registered.
(5) A local government must not charge a fee for a
notice given under this section.
(6) In this section—
"address" means a place where the business proprietor resides or carries on
business.
