PROPERTY LAW ACT 1974 - SECT 140
Definitions for div 5
In this division—
"agent" means—
(a) a person usually employed by the landlord in the letting
of the land or in the collection of the rents of the land; or
(b) a person
specially authorised to act in the particular matter by writing under the hand
of the landlord; or
(c) a solicitor authorised to act on behalf of the
landlord.
"court" means a Magistrates Court.
"defendant" means the person alleged in a complaint under this division to be
a person who fails to deliver up possession of land.
"Magistrates Court District" means a district for the purposes of Magistrates
Courts appointed under the Justices Act 1886 .
