Obstructing and impersonating authorised persons
158 Obstructing and impersonating authorised persons
(1) A person must not obstruct an authorised person in the exercise of a
power, unless the person has a reasonable excuse. Penalty— Maximum
penalty—200 penalty units.
(2) If a person has obstructed an authorised
person and the authorised person decides to proceed with the exercise of the
power, the authorised person must warn the person that— (a) it is an offence
to obstruct the authorised person, unless the person has a reasonable excuse;
and
(b) the authorised person considers the person’s conduct an
obstruction.
(3) A person must not pretend to be an authorised person.
Penalty— Maximum penalty—100 penalty units.
(4) In this section—
"obstruct" includes assault, hinder and threaten, and attempt to obstruct.
