COAL MINING SAFETY AND HEALTH REGULATION 2017 - REG 57
Possible major hazard facilities
57 Possible major hazard facilities
(1) This section applies to a coal mine that meets the criteria for a major
hazard facility under the NOHSC document entitled ‘National Standard for the
Control of Major Hazard Facilities [NOHSC:1014]’.
(2) The mine’s safety
and health management system must provide for the mine’s operations to be
carried out in accordance with— (a) this regulation; and
(b) for operations
other than the preparation and use of explosives at a blast site—the
national standard safety and health provisions— (i) to the extent the
provisions are consistent with the Act and this regulation; and
(ii) as if a
reference in the provisions to the relevant public authority were a reference
to the chief inspector of mines.
(3) In this section—
"national standard safety and health provisions" means sections 6 to 10 of the
document mentioned in subsection (1) .
