ELECTRICAL SAFETY REGULATION 2013 - REG 73
Work involving electric motor forming part of vehicle
(1) A person must not perform work on an electric motor forming part of a
vehicle unless— (a) the person is a licensed electrical worker; and
(b) the
work performed is work that the person would be authorised to perform on the
electric motor under the person’s electrical work licence if the
electric motor were electrical equipment.
Penalty— Maximum
penalty—40 penalty units.
(2) If a business or undertaking includes the
performance of work on an electric motor, a person conducting the business or
undertaking must ensure that, in the conduct of the business or undertaking, a
person does not perform work in contravention of subsection (1) .
Penalty— Maximum penalty—40 penalty units.
(3) In this section—
"electric motor" means an electric motor that is electrical equipment within
the meaning of section 14 (1) of the Act , but is not electrical equipment
under the Act because of the operation of section 14 (2) of the Act .
"vehicle" does not include a car or motorbike under the
Transport Operations (Road Use Management) Act 1995 .
"work" , on an electric motor, means work on the electric motor that would be
electrical work if the electric motor were electrical equipment.
