PUBLIC HEALTH REGULATION 2018 - REG 50
Definitions for part
In this part—
"approved drinking water quality management plan" see the
Water Supply (Safety and Reliability) Act 2008 , schedule 3 .
"approved recycled water management plan" see the
Water Supply (Safety and Reliability) Act 2008 , schedule 3 .
"cfu" means colony forming units.
"class" , of recycled water, means recycled water that meets the standard for
the quality of water of that class prescribed under division 2 .
"drinking water service" see the
Water Supply (Safety and Reliability) Act 2008 , schedule 3 .
"management plan" , for water, means—
(a) the
approved drinking water quality management plan for the drinking water service
under which the water is supplied; or
(b) the
approved recycled water management plan for the recycled water scheme under
which the water is supplied.
"MPN" means most probable number.
"pfu" means plaque forming units.
"physical and chemical guideline table" means the table that states guideline
values for physical and chemical characteristics of drinking water in chapter
10 of the document called the ‘Australian Drinking Water Guidelines’
published by the NHMRC.
"preceding 1-year period" , for a month, means the period of 1 year ending at
the end of the previous month.
"radiological guideline table" means the table that states a guideline value
for the radiological quality of drinking water in chapter 10 of the document
called the ‘Australian Drinking Water Guidelines’ published by the NHMRC.
"recycled water" has the meaning given by the
Water Supply (Safety and Reliability) Act 2008 , schedule 3 , definition
recycled water , paragraph (a) .
"recycled water scheme" see the Water Supply (Safety and Reliability) Act 2008
, schedule 3 .
"resample" , of water, means a sample of water taken because an earlier sample
of water was not of the quality required under the management plan for the
water.
