(1) A person conducting a business or undertaking must manage, under part 3.1 , risks to health and safety associated with using, handling, generating or storing a hazardous chemical at a workplace.Note—WHS Act — section 19 (see section 9 ).
(2) In managing risks the person must have regard to the following—(a) the hazardous properties of the hazardous chemical;(b) any potential hazardous chemical or physical reaction between the hazardous chemical and another substance or mixture, including a substance that may be generated by the reaction;(c) the nature of the work to be carried out with the hazardous chemical;(d) any structure, plant or system of work—(i) that is used in the use, handling, generation or storage of the hazardous chemical; or(ii) that could interact with the hazardous chemical at the workplace.
