161 Amendment of s 97 (Notifying registrar when body is released and investigation ends)

(1) Section 97 (1) , ‘under the Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Act 2003 ’—
omit.

(2) Section 97 (2) , ‘under the Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Act 2003 a written notice, in the approved form’—
omit, insert —
a written notice, in the form required by the registrar and in an approved way

(3) Section 97 (3) —
omit, insert —

(3) In this section—

"approved way" , of giving a notice, means a way that is—

(a) approved by the registrar; and

(b) published on the department’s website or www.qld.gov.au .

"registrar" means the registrar under the Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Act 2023 .
