Recording payment of compensation on title
34 Recording payment of compensation on title
(1) This section applies if the local government pays compensation to the
affected owner of an interest in premises.
(2) The chief executive officer of
the local government must give notice of the payment of the compensation to
the following person (the
"recorder" )— (a) to the extent the interest in the premises is recorded on
the freehold land register under the Land Title Act —the registrar of titles
under that Act;
(b) to the extent the interest in the premises is recorded on
a register under the Land Act —the chief executive under that Act.
(3) The
notice must be in the form approved by the recorder.
(4) The recorder must
keep the information in the notice under— (a) to the extent the interest in
the premises is recorded on the freehold land register under the Land Title
Act —section 34 of that Act; or
(b) to the extent the interest in the
premises is recorded on a register under the Land Act —section 281 of that
Act.
