PUBLIC SECTOR ACT 2022 - SECT 29
Equity and diversity audit and report
(1) The chief executive of a prescribed entity must conduct an audit each year
(an
"equity and diversity audit" )— (a) to gather information about the
composition of the entity’s workforce; and
(b) if the entity had an equity
and diversity plan for the previous year—to analyse performance against that
plan; and
(c) otherwise to identify and analyse opportunities to promote,
support and progress equity and diversity in the entity.
(2) In planning for
and conducting the audit, the chief executive of the prescribed entity must
consider— (a) the purpose of this chapter under section 24 ; and
(b) the
chief executive’s duty under section 27 ; and
(c) the obligation under
section 28 for the chief executive to make an equity and diversity plan.
(3)
As soon as practicable after conducting the audit, the chief executive of the
prescribed entity must prepare a report about the information gathered in the
audit (an
"equity and diversity report" ).
(4) If the commissioner or chapter 2 special
commissioner asks the chief executive of the prescribed entity for a copy of
the equity and diversity report, the chief executive must comply with the
request.
