39A—Reporting bodies to notify central assessment unit etc
(1) Without limiting
any other Act or law that requires or authorises a reporting body to disclose
information, a reporting body—
(a)
must, if in the course of performing its functions in relation to a person the
reporting body suspects that the person poses, or may pose, an unacceptable
risk to children—
(i)
notify the central assessment unit of that suspicion; and
(ii)
provide to the central assessment unit such information
as may be in the possession of the reporting body as may be relevant to the
notification; and
(b) may
disclose to the central assessment unit any information on any matter relevant
to the operation of this Act.
(2) A notification
under subsection (1)(a) must be made in a manner and form determined by
the central assessment unit.
(3) The regulations
may make further provision in relation to a notification under this section.
(4) In this
section—
"reporting body" means a person or body prescribed by the regulations for the
purposes of this section.
