15—Medical practitioner's duty to explain
A medical practitioner has a duty to explain to a patient (or the patient's
representative), so far as may be practicable and reasonable in the
circumstances—
(a) the
nature, consequences and risks of proposed medical treatment; and
(b) the
likely consequences of not undertaking the treatment; and
(c) any
alternative treatment or courses of action that might be reasonably considered
in the circumstances of the particular case.
