76—Powers of home detention officers
(1) A
home detention officer may, at any time—
(a)
enter or telephone the residence of a person to whom the officer has been
assigned; or
(b)
telephone the person's place of employment or any other place at which the
person is permitted or required to attend; or
(c)
question any person who is at that residence or place as to the whereabouts of
the person to whom the officer has been assigned,
for the purposes of ascertaining whether or not the person is complying with a
condition of the home detention order.
(2) A person must
not—
(a)
hinder a home detention officer in the exercise of powers under this section;
or
(b) fail
to answer truthfully any question put to the person by a home
detention officer under those powers.
Maximum penalty: $2 500.
