26—Non-practising registration
(1) A person is
eligible to hold non-practising registration as a social worker under this Act
if the person—
(a)
holds or has held general registration as a social worker under this Act; and
(b) is a
suitable person to hold non-practising registration as a social worker.
(2) The Board may
decide that a person is not a suitable person to hold non-practising
registration as a social worker under this Act if, in the Board's opinion, the
person is not a fit and proper person to be registered as a social worker or,
for any other reason, it is not in the public interest for the person to be
registered as a social worker.
(3) A person who holds
non-practising registration as a social worker under this Act must not
undertake social work services.
(4) A contravention of
subsection (3) by a person registered as a social worker does not
constitute an offence but may constitute unprofessional conduct.
