6—Constitution of Board
(1) The Board consists
of 7 members appointed by the Governor, of whom—
(a) 4
must be persons who have extensive experience in social work; and
(b) 1
must be a legal practitioner; and
(c) 1
must be a representative of the general community.
(2) The
Minister—
(a)
must, after consultation with the Board, appoint 1 of the members to
preside at meetings of the Board (the "presiding member"); and
(b)
must, after consultation with the Board, appoint 1 of the members to preside
at meetings of the Board in the absence of the presiding member (the
"deputy presiding member"); and
(c) may
appoint a person to be a proxy of any member (other than the presiding member)
and a person so appointed may act as a member of the Board in the absence of
the member.
(3) The requirements
of qualification and nomination (if applicable) made by this section in
relation to the appointment of a member extend to the appointment of a proxy
of that member.
