29—Certificates of registration
(1) The Registrar
must, on the registration of a person as a teacher, issue to the person a
certificate of registration in a form approved by the Teachers Registration
Board that includes the following information:
(a) the
person's full name and registration number; and
(b) the
conditions (if any) of the registration; and
(c) the
expiry date of the registration; and
(d) any
other information the Board thinks fit.
(2) A registered
teacher must, within 28 days after—
(a) a
condition of the person's registration has been varied or revoked; or
(b) any
other change in the information recorded in the certificate of registration
has occurred; or
(c) the
registration has been suspended or cancelled,
return the certificate of registration to the Registrar.
Maximum penalty: $1 250.
Expiation fee: $160.
(3) On receipt of a
certificate of registration under subsection (2), the Registrar
must—
(a) if
the person's registration has been cancelled, destroy the certificate; or
(b) if
the person's registration has been suspended, retain the certificate until the
end of the period of suspension, and then return the certificate to the
person; or
(c) in
any other case, unless the Registrar determines otherwise, alter the
certificate or issue a new certificate.
