25—Fossil and geomorphological sites
(1) If, in the opinion
of the Director, it is necessary or desirable in order to protect a fossil
site or a site of geomorphological significance in a wilderness protection
area or wilderness protection zone, the Director may, by notice in the
Gazette, declare the site to be a fossil site of significance or a site of
geomorphological significance.
(2) A person who,
intentionally and without the permission of the Director or other lawful
authority, destroys, damages, or disturbs a site that is the subject of a
declaration under subregulation (1) is guilty of an offence.
Penalty: $15 000.
Expiation fee: $1 500.
